What Prompted Me to Write This Novel
My wife and I have felt the sting of betrayal from people we believed were trusted friends and colleagues – twice! The iciness of their treachery and deception cut us so deeply that it took all of our compassion and ability to forgive so we could weather their hypocrisy. When I decided what the opening scene would be for this book, the organics of the plot development resurrected an element of deceit that paralleled our heartbreak, so I thought I’d use it to spur the emotional depth I knew Pamela would feel when faced with her own betrayal.
